So far, I am really getting into this book. I’ll admitt it took me awhile at first, but then I started to enjoy it. It’s an interesting book that makes you think, and I think thats why I like it so much.

The book club met and discussed the book.

Here are several questions: Would you have liked for the book to have more dialogue? Some people didn’t like the narrative format.

Could you live on your own if something happened to your entire family? How would you cope with a disaster?

Several people wanted different endings. What ending would you have chosen?

Was Ash self-destructive? How?

What was the symbolism behind the three rock piles? What was the significance of the different rock colors?

How did caring for others help Ash become Green again?

Was there anything that bothered you about the book or character? What was it and why did it bother you?

Please list any questions you would like to discuss.

The next club meeting date hasn’t been determined. We are reading The City of Ember.  I will have these available next week and they are $5.

We will have a longer meeting next time because we want to discuss the book and we want to watch the movie afterward. Perhaps this could be a dinner meeting?

The book chosen next will be Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. This book will cost more because of the length of the book. It will be somewhere around $10 to $12 dollars. I will let you know after I order them.

Let me hear from you. Blogging can be fun!

Obviously we all love to read or else we wouldn’t be in the Book Club, but I was just wondering if anyone wrote anything for themselves. I read constantly, but I also enjoy creating my own worlds, characters, and plots to really mess with the characters’ lives. So, how many of you guys like to write? It doesn’t even have to be novels or short stories either. Poems, newspaper articles, fan fiction, even the dreaded essay. I know we are a Book Club but maybe, if anyone has a story or poem they don’t mind sharing, we can read some of our members’ original works too. Just thought I’d throw that idea out there. =)
